The Fromhomewithlove.com solution allows consumers to ship homemade meals within 1-3 days anywhere within the United States. Our 'Single Use' and 'Reusable Kit' allows you to take advantage of transportation services not previously available for shipping perishable food, i.e., Ground and 2 Day services, thus providing significant savings over expensive overnight transportation. All while being accurately and effortlessly monitored by our state-of the art Time-Temperature Indicator while in transit.
Step #1:
- The longer you keep your homemade meal on ice the more you increase your chances for success. Remember, the clock starts ticking when you take your frozen homemade meal out of the freezer, and ends when your homemade meal is delivered to your loved one.
- Do not send your homemade meal at the end of the week. Send them at the beginning of the week so they don't sit in the back of a truck or mailing facility over the weekend. As a general rule, we recommend targeting delivery no later than Thursday of each week, unless you're shipping packages with a guaranteed delivery date. Additionally, be mindful of holidays by checking out our Carrier Holiday Schedule link.
- Are there things you can do to reduce your shipping costs and have your package processed faster? Absolutely. Undoubtedly by dropping off your package at an authorized FedEx, or UPS store may speed-up the processing time and you'll save money by doing so. Check with your local authorized FedEx, or UPS store for details regarding the latest time you can drop off your package.
- Save a few dollars with FedEx and UPS shipping by using our helpful 'Save on Shipping' module on the previous page. This provides you with the nearest drop off locations in your area.
- Shipments requiring three or less travel days can be shipped by Ground transportation. Shipments requiring more than three days for delivery should be shipped using 2nd day Air.
- If your scheduling a residential pickup, keep the container with you until the driver comes to the door. If you're going out keep in a shaded location outside your home protected from the elements.
- Consider sending your package from work. This way you can keep your food container, refrigerants or possibly the entire Insulated Container Kit on ice depending how large your company's freezer is. Did you ever notice at work how the refrigerator is always full of lunches and the freezer is always empty? Why not take advantage of this! If authorized, you may also use a third party FedEx or UPS account number (see below).
SHIPPING COSTS:
- The shipping fees for shipments of your homemade meal may be made by credit, debit card, PayPal, or by opting to use a third party shipping account number. In the event you choose to utilize a third-party shipping account number, you will be subject to a small transaction fee. Please note Fromhomewithlove.com conveniently provides you with the best pricing and transit times of our preferred carriers enabling you to select the best option for your budget.
