Meatball Stroganoff

Winter brings longer nights and colder weather. That’s the time we start to pull out our coats, boots, and sometimes scarves. It’s also the time we crave heartier meals compared to the warmer months. If you want a homemade meal delivered to a loved one and just don’t know what to send, try our meatball stroganoff recipe. They’ll love it!

For the Meatballs
1 Pound Lean Ground Beef (Can substitute with ground turkey)
½ Cup Bread Crumbs
1 Large Egg (Beaten)
1 Tbsp. Onion Powder
1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder
1 Tsp. Basil Leaves
½ Tsp. Salt
½ Tsp. Black Pepper

For the Sauce
½ Cup Unsalted Butter
2 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup Beef Broth
¼ Cup Sour Cream
¼ Cup Cream of Mushroom
¼ Tsp. Salt
¼ Tsp. Black Pepper

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients for the meatballs. Mix well. Form meat into 1 ½” balls and set aside. Place meatballs in a single layer in a large frying pan. Over low to medium heat, brown meatballs in a light coat of cooking oil. Make sure to rotate every two minutes for even cooking. Remove meatballs from pan and place on paper towel lined cookie sheet in order to soak up oil.

In a sauce pan, over low to medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in flour. Slowly add broth, sour cream, cream of mushroom, salt, and pepper. Continue to whisk until ingredients are completely mixed. Remove pan from heat.

Place meatballs over precooked egg noodles. Pour sauce on top of meatballs and serve warm.
